She yanked the wound apart. He let out a muted cry. Blood poured out. She pushed the bleached water rag into the open wound and squeezed it before pulling it out. She took dressing from the box, removed it from the sterile packer and pressed it onto him. She did another. %u201cCan you hold it them so it helps the blood congeal a bit. I can stitch it together then and redress it.%u201d She told him.He put his hand onto it and held it there. %u201cGood,%u201d she said. %u201cWhile you do that, I%u2019ll make some tea.%u201dIt was an hour later and she had finished sewing and dressing the wound. %u201cThere,%u201d she said. %u201cThe dressing will need changing again in the morning.
