309Faith, and fifteen minutes later, the Dean and Sister Nancy. They sat together in Matilda%u2019s large living room; a meeting of proverbial %u2018odd fellows%u2019, all there due to their interest in Faith, a young woman with no arms or legs, and with a pretty face framed by pigtails; a young woman who did not realise she was the attractive gravity that the others circled around. If one was an observer, a fly on the wall, perhaps, it would be obvious to ask %u2019why%u2019?%u201cThank you all for coming. Faith is here because we have a proposal to make from us to try and make her life better. And you Dean and Sister Nancy, from what you told us at Faith birthday party have a similar offer to make. I%u2019m making sure, Faith, that you understand why we%u2019re all here and your good self?%u201d Matilda told them.%u201cYes. It%u2019s very kind of you.%u201d Faith replied.%u201cGood. As you can see, Henry and I have a very large home. There is one part we never use. Our proposal is that you come and live here, rent-free. I can have the spare accommodation altered to make life much easier for you to live close to an independent life and provide helpers to wash, dress, feed you, and help you manage with more personal issues,%u201d Matilda explained.%u201cMay I see the spare area?%u201d Faith asked.%u201cYes. Of course. We%u2019ll take you round after the Dean here has explained his offer.%u201d Matilda said. %u201cDean?%u201d%u201cThank you. As you may or may not be aware, the Convent runs open evenings where the public visit, offering donations to the sisters in return for a hour or two with them in their private rooms. Here, they learn about the work being done by the Convent. We believe that we can give you a kind of a job of sorts which will help you raise money for new procedures that can give you back use of artificial limbs. Ones Fidget
