339Insanity is the state of mind that a person experiences when they lose touch with what the majority people in the world believe to be a mixed consensus of perceived reality. Betty never took dugs, alcohol, nor did she have religious believes. Indeed, up to the age of seventeen, her belief in reality was no different to most other people%u2019s.It was the night just before her eighteenth birthday that her view on reality drastically altered. It%u2019s worth remembering the night to understand the circumstances that led her to go completely insane. The night in question had been Halloween. She had not wanted a party at home. One of her school friends had the same birthday date. She had been walking home in the evening with her friend Lucy. They had been to that friend%u2019s small birthday party and had left at 11.pm.The walk home was just over a mile and through a town regarded to be one of the safest in the county of Oxfordshire. The night was bitter cold, but dry, and there was no wind. Most of the light displays on the houses had now been put out and the neighbourhood was quiet and peaceful. Jack and his mates were in their early twenties, well Jack%u2019s mates were, but jack was nineteen. They were spoilt, unruly, and reckless teenagers who had no intention of ever doing an honest day%u2019s work in their lives. Jack though, was the only one who owned a car. A powerful BMW. He was driving and showing off. They had been drinking and were inhaling Nitrous Oxide, a laughing gas, and a drug used by a large number of teenagers looking for a buzz. They videoed the car out through the window on their phones as Jack took it around sharp bends at speeds that threatened to put it on two wheels instead of four.InsanityChapter 1: The Cemetery
