More MPs might come so Kyle said to set their laser weapons to minimum intensity which would result in the MPs dying of heart attacks caused by electric shocks. The next part of the plan relied on the first part being successful. Kyle and Norman would kill the casino guards as soon as they heard the battle outside. They would steal gold currency from the chip-trading counter and exit to join their men ready to close the ambush on the next appearance of Military Police. Kyle reckoned a platoon of eighteen had been sent. The army was like that. They liked units and platoons, and regiments. They still did not appreciate the strength of guerrilla warfare.Kyle did. They both routinely checked and counted the guards, noting their changing positions. The cameras scanned the room. Kyle had no doubt they were sending face recognition streams to the Military Police.Kyle felt no fear. He had faced too much already, and his biology no longer generated such emotion. In threat situations, he became a cold, emotionless, biological computer. It had a single aim, kill anyone that was an enemy. He already knew, for example, that one of the guards was the most dangerous. The man had a face that revealed no intention or anything to give away that he was nothing more than a customer. He played Black Jack just three players away from Kyle. And Kyle knew the guard was aware of him, that his instinct had informed him, the guard, that another dangerous man was just a short distance away. Kyle wondered if he might somehow be an ex-soldier.Cards were dealt. Kyle looked at them. It was a great hand. He asked for just one more card. He picked it up: five card twenty-one.
