9One hour later, Keith was driving with Amanda next to him in his Rover2000. %u201cThis is a posh motor,%u201d she said.%u201cHa! It might be if it was new. It%u2019s quite old and costs me a lot to keep it running, but I%u2019m very attached to it. Can you drive?%u201dAmanda smiled. %u201cYes, but I don%u2019t have a car. I have a scooter. A Vespa.%u201d%u201cI had one of them when I was a teenager. Dodgy in the wet,%u201d he replied. %u201cWhereabouts in Box Hill are we going? I didn't think there were many places affordable up there.%u201d%u201cI live in a caravan in a park on the hill. It%u2019s a holiday camp but one can live there eleven months of the year,%u201d she told him.%u201cThat%u2019s novel,%u201d he said. %u201cExpensive?%u201d%u201cIt would be but my mum owns it and allows me to stay there while I look for somewhere in London.%u201dA short time later, they were driving on Box Hill. %u201cChrist! It%u2019s very foggy up here,%u201d Keith said.%u201cIt goes like this sometimes. The warm summer air and a cold atmosphere descending, I%u2019m told,%u201d She said. %u201cGo slowly, and I will direct you.%u201d%u201cI%u2019m at a crawl already. I can hardly see the road,%u201d Keith states.%u201cYou%u2019re doing fine. In about fifty yards, there is an entrance to the field where the vans are. Mine is in the most remote part, away from the rest of them,%u201d she said and pointed. %u201cLook. There.%u201dHe swung the car off the road and onto what appeared to him to be a dirt track. After a hundred or so yards, she said, %u201cStop. We%u2019re here.%u201d%u201cAre you sure?%u201d he asked. %u201cI can%u2019t see anything.%u201dAmanda opened the door and went around to his side. %u201cCome on. Take my hand. I know exactly where we are. I have some beers inside and the gas fire is cosy.%u201dHe got out and took her hand, following close to where she led him. They arrived at a door. He saw it only vaguely as she opened it and went inside. It was dark.%u201cStand still. I%u2019ll find the light switch,%u201d she said. One Night Stand
