6He turned and watched as her bike came down the slope of the bridge and suddenly slowed to a halt. He saw that she was puzzled and looking at the display, how she tried to peddle start it but the motor would not kick in. Reluctantly, she climbed down from the bike and wheeled it over beside the pond. She looked at the wires and the battery, but could see nothing wrong. She squatted to check wires and connections with Daniel watching her. She shook her head before getting her mobile phone out of the bike%u2019s The Samaritan%u2019s Gift%u201cMy story begins on a bright and sunny spring day.%u201d%u201cI was riding my e-bike to one of my favourite places on the Berkshire Downs.
